I just found another suspicious little bump in my breast. Like last time, it’s probably nothing, but it might be something, so I’m on the way to the doctor as soon as I can get in to see her. Ladies, when was the last time you did a self breast exam?

On Cleaning and Cleaners

I know that those of you who tune into this blog don’t tune in for the homemaking stuff. Just like people who fly don’t fly to get the peanuts. But they do get them (the peanuts, I mean) and so you’re about to get a homemaking tale.
I ran out of my usual bathroom cleaner, oh, [...]

OK!

OK, I’m back. Phew. That week was too much.
I’ve started writing again, which is good. In fact, I wrote the opening few paragraphs of the book I’ve been trying to write for two or three years and went, woah, which I figure is a good thing. Who am I kidding? It’s great. I haven’t [...]

Don’t worry, you’ll be able to get the toaster over [...]

DIY

Spent much of yesterday evening reading awesome DIY apartment decorating blogs, which is probably why, at 9 o ‘clock last night I thought it would be a great idea to try to dye some old tea towels green with tea. They looked horrible when I took them out of the tea bath, and even worse [...]

Sleepless night last night. Got to work to find computer problems for an OS I’m not really familiar with. Got that sorted out by consensus (phew) and commenced the days emailing (sent and 8, received 15, just FYI). I actually went into work late because when I did get to sleep I wanted to make [...]

Review of Handbook

Sweet Vernal Zephyr has a few things to say about Handbook.
My editor Kara and I struggled with the juxtaposition of the traditional Japanese and anachronisms in the book. It looks like, for this reviewer at least, we hit the right balance. Phew.
