Editing sticks in my brain. I lie awake and think of scenes that bug me, or things I’ve been meaning to change, or things that might be inconsistent. Right now, it’s money that’s driving me crazy.
I’m trying to keep track of how much money the character has on him, when he last ate, that sort [...]

Friday:
Well, that was a promotion I shall never forget, for a few reasons, one of which was my colleague training so hard she passed out, but before she did, she completed a tonfa kata even though she was out on her feet. I’ve never seen anything like it. Talk about having your kata down. [...]

I managed to do a good day’s work at the day job and then also come home and do a good day’s work on the manuscript. Hurrah! So round one of Field Guide edits is done, and I feel like I need to be up front about something here.
Field Guide might become something else. [...]
Some things to think about

Deeply, deeply tired today. I had a few relevatory moments today. The first was when I realized that when Field Guide goes out I will have no more forthcoming books, which will be the first time in a year and a half I’ve had nothing pending, and that’s really scary to me.
The second revelation was [...]

Things have returned to normal at Sheehan HQ, I’ve had a day to clean house and put my writing stuff in order, and now I’m starting to get antsy about my work.
I’m still waiting on the next round of edits to Stormy Bamboo, and we’re getting closer to the fifteenth, which is when edits [...]

The judges for the barista competition arrived today for palette calibration and the competitors have started arriving. I spent most of the day packing a box with all the stuff I’ll need for the booth I’m staffing at the trade show and feeling, well, great.
Sometime last night or early this morning whatever has been out [...]

Back from very enjoyable dinner with Steve and Shannon. Saw the bat coming back to his little place up above the balcony (I thought he would be going out this time of night) and settled down to do the last email check of the day. Just heard that edits for Field Guide are to start [...]
