Those of you who follow the publishing gossip will by now have heard about Harlequin Horizons. For those of you who haven’t been following, here’s the long and short: Harlequin has decided to expand into pay-to-play publishing.
Needless to say, this hasn’t gone over well at all. Apparently the folks over at Harlequin are “very surprised [...]

So, 25 days early, here I am, sitting down at the ole’ compy with a cup of tea and Janis Joplin (Pearl) on the Wi-fi Hi-fi. I’m feeling slightly sheepish about coming back so early, but mostly relieved. I need blogging like I need bad black tea. Not like, I’ll die without it, but I [...]

Any time an email from an editor contains a qualifier, I’m suspicious. I’m not sure if it works the same way with big presses, but in all my [...]
How Odd

Got my royalties from Prizm yesterday, but the royalties for books sold through Amazon are missing. How odd. Of course, I don’t really know when they should appear, so I sent a few emails. I’ll post further bulletins as events warrant. Mean time, I’m off to play mah jongg. That’s right, I’m skipping karate.
On Plagiarism

I’m sorry I missed the opportunity to post about plagiarism on Anti Plagiarism day, which took place, according to Writer Beware and numerous other sources, yesterday, while I was busy reading the Good Housekeeping Cookbook, circa 1940.
I scrambled to catch up with what the rest of the writing world all ready new, read some classic [...]
